If you’ve ever visited the studio, chances are you’ve come across the beautiful Melissa. Her infectious energy and warm smile are just some of the reasons we love Mel, not to mention her amazing reputation as one of our star performers at Pure Moves. A woman of many talents, Mel juggles motherhood, teaching AND dancing and still manages to bring it, every single time. So, what does a day in the life of instructor Mel look like? Let’s find out…
What does a typical day look like for you?
No two days are the same for me as it depends on what times I am teaching and if I have my beautiful son, Lincoln, with me. A day with Lincoln looks very much like this:
6.45am – wake up and caffeinate ASAP before making lunches for Lincoln and I.
7.15am – wake Lincoln up, shower and get us both ready for school and work.
7.45am – fly out the door for school drop off which takes about an hour (argh!)
9.30am – arrive at Pure Moves to teach for the morning
12.00pm – run errands and do food shopping
3pm – pick up Lincoln from school
3.30pm – homework, after school play and swimming lessons
5.30pm – make dinner for Lincoln, then shower him and put him to bed
8pm – catch up on life admin and plan the next day’s classes, sleep and repeat!
What are your health and fitness must haves every day?
I try to do some body maintenance every day such as foam rolling, stretching and releasing. My muscles need a bit of love to help me relax.
What are your go-to beauty products each day?
SPF and Vaseline (for lip balm) are the two products I can’t live without. They’re always floating around in my bag for reapplication!
How do you like to unwind after a big day?
I spend all day shouting and talking at people so some quiet time for me each day is heaven!
