I’m a beginner. Where do I start?

Welcome! If you would like to try all our classes, especially our pilates, the best way is with our Total Pilates Pack ($149) which includes 1 x 1 hour private and 4 x any group classes. A private session is required before attending our reformer classes if you don’t have prior experience. Even if you’ve done some pilates before, this pack is really recommended as you can learn a lot in the private session and it is great value!

What should I wear and bring?

Please wear comfortable exercise clothing. Socks are compulsory for hygiene in all classes and grippy socks (which we sell at the studio) are required for Xtend Barre. TRX is the only class which requires sneakers. All equipment is supplied, however some clients prefer to bring and use their own mat for yoga classes.

How do I find the studio?

We are located in the Cottesloe Central Shopping Centre, corner Leake St and Stirling Hwy. It’s the big shopping centre across the highway from Napoleon Street. We’re upstairs from Woolworths and next to Goodlife Gym and have ample free parking on site.

I’m pregnant. Is it okay to attend classes at Pure Moves?

Definitely! Please advise our instructors who’ll give you appropriate modifications for some exercises in class. You may attend privates and semi-privates, group reformer pilates and also Xtend Barre if you’re feeling more energetic. Our other classes are not suitable. We highly recommend investing in a private session to learn safe exercises appropriate for your body. Our classes are a fantastic way to prepare for labour and keep you strong and toned throughout your pregnancy, making it easier for you to regain your shape once bub is born.

How many times a week should I come? 

Three is the magic number, (and four or more is even better!) to get good results from our classes, but if you are doing other exercise then one or two should be fine to complement your existing routine.

How do I book a class?

Bookings are required for all classes and can be made via our free iPhone app, or online here. If you are not tech savvy you can always phone the studio to book on 61617591.

What happens if I book a class and can no longer attend?

We have a 4 hour cancellation policy for group classes and 24 hour policy for private lessons. If you ‘no-show’ or cancel within this time, you will be charged for the session as it often means another client could have attended. Clients on an unlimited membership who ‘no-show’ or late cancel more than twice per month will be charged a $10 penalty fee as a deterrent.
