Get the most out of your workout with these handy hints that will make your next visit to Pure Moves efficient AF!

Know your limits
It’s so important to understand your body’s limitations when exercising. Our classes always offer variations for exercises. If you’re not up to it or something doesn’t feel quite right, be sure to let the instructor know. There’s nothing worse than persisting with an exercise that may cause you injury or pain if it’s not right for you! It’s also super important to let the instructor know if you are injured or pregnant before class starts.

Stretch
Take some time before and after class to stretch out those tight spots. You’ll be able to move more freely during class and speed up muscle recovery time post-workout. A little stretch first thing in the morning is always a good idea to get the blood flowing to your muscles. A gentle hip flexor or lower back stretch is ideal if you’ve been sitting at a desk all day.

Stay hydrated
Drinking enough water before, during and after class is vital for maximum performance during a workout and for recovery afterwards. Depending on the intensity of your workout, you’ll most likely need to replenish hydration levels if you’re working up a sweat so keep dehydration at bay with a bottle of fresh water. We sell bottled water if you forget yours or pick up one of our stainless-steel Pure Moves bottles!

Dress properly
There’s nothing worse than dealing with ill-fitting or uncomfortable activewear when you’re trying to focus on your plank or plie! We’re big advocates for investing in good quality activewear for so many reasons, the main one being that you’ll be able to glide through your class in maximum comfort. Some of our classes also require grippy socks which make a world of difference in Reformer, Mat and Pure PHIT. You can purchase them from reception.

Arrive on time
Start strong and get to class a few minutes early. Rushing in at the last second to set up won’t do your workout any good. You’ll feel stressed and it’s also disruptive to your classmates and the instructor. Arriving early will set you up for a smooth start to class and help you remain focused and ready to smash it!
