Here with us at Pure Moves since day one, instructor Laura (T) is a highly experienced Pilates practitioner with a beautiful, warm personality to match. She is passionate about her craft and turned to Pilates after suffering severe injuries in a car accident. Originally trained by the internationally recognised STOTT PILATES method, Laura’s commitment to ongoing training means her classes are full of variety and new exercises for her clients – she likes to keep it fresh! Check out what’s in-store for her on a typical day…
What does a typical day look like for you?
I am up at about 5.15am which is when I have breakfast (I love my oats!) and feed our puppy, Roxy. After I have showered and dressed I get the kids up for breakfast and ready for school. At 6.45am we are out the door so I can take them to before school care and I head to work. After a day of teaching I drive home for an afternoon of school activities, then it’s back to work for a few hours. I’m usually home around 7.30pm and it’s time for dinner, shower and bed at 8.30pm.
What are your health and fitness must haves
I can’t live without my daily tonic, a turmeric shot. It’s so good for inflammation, improving digestion and relieving joint pain. I also try and squeeze in 30 minutes of movement around teaching where I can.
What are your go-to beauty products?
Rosehip oil to keep my skin hydrated and nourished, SPF and 8 hours sleep.
When you’re not in the studio, where can we find you?
At the beach (usually surfing) or continuing my Pilates learning – you can never stop learning!
How do you like to unwind after a big day?
A walk along the coast to clear the mind and get my blood flowing. There is nothing like that fresh ocean air!
