So, your partner liked it and put a ring on it (yay!) and now you’re in full wedding preparation mode spending more hours on Pinterest than you’d like to admit. When it comes to getting wedding ready, it’s so easy to get swept up in table decorations, flowers and guest lists that the whole process can become a lot more stressful than it needs to be. Don’t forget this is your special time and it’s important to enjoy the process. That means taking some time for you and practicing all of the #selfcare in the lead up to your special day. In case you needed a little guidance, we’ve put together some hot tips to help you proceed as calmly as possible.
Get together with your bridesmaids and schedule in some regular classes at the studio. We find most brides-to-be get the most out of our Barre PHIT classes when wanting to shape up for their wedding. The all over body workout not only tones pretty much everything but also helps with weight loss, energy and stress management. If you’re a little short on time, try a series of TRX or Power Plate classes. Mat or reformer Pilates are also great lower impact options that still deliver exceptional results. Pop in to the studio and have a chat with us about your options – whether it be a special membership for you and your bridesmaids, a private class for your special day or just how to get the most out of your current classes.
Treat your skin
There is nothing better than that unmistakeable glow when skin is at its best, plus makeup will sit perfectly and skin will photograph beautifully when it is clear and healthy. Our friends at Forever Beautiful have an amazing offering of skin treatments to suit all skin types and budgets including peels, facials, microdermabrasion and relaxing beauty treatments. The team of dedicated skin therapists can also prescribe at-home skincare products and will ensure you are equipped with all the knowledge to enhance your treatments and get the glow on!
Nourish your body
While the occasional celebratory champagne (or two) might be a regular thing at the moment, keep your body feeling great with healthy food choices as often as you can. Smoothies, juices and salads are a great way to boost your intake of vitamins and minerals in one hit, not to mention they are super tasty. When it comes to eating well, we can’t go past the menu at Nature’s Harvest for something delicious and nourishing. Swap your regular coffee and cake catch up with the girls for a healthy brekkie or smoothie date instead! Need some extra help? Get in touch with our resident nutritionist Kelley at One Wellness.
Calm your mind
In this busy time, it’s important to switch off and calm the mind to help keep stress levels at bay. Take some time each day to turn off your devices (that includes Pinterest!), minimise distraction and practice mindfulness. Whether you sit in silence for 10 minutes, practice a guided meditation (Headspace and Smiling Mind are great apps) or go for a gentle walk through nature. The benefits of mindfulness are amazing – your mind and body will thank you.
