We are obviously spoilt when it comes to the best wellness and hottest fitness studios in Perth (we’re not even biased…) but it’s always fun to explore new and exciting spaces outside WA when you’re traveling. Whether you need your Pilates or yoga fix or simply need some relaxing treatments, there are some incredible places to add to your list.
So, if you’re among the lucky ones jetting off this summer for some well-deserved holiday time, we’ve rounded up some of the coolest wellness and hottest fitness studios around the globe that are well worth checking out. Just keep it off Insta so we don’t get jealous!
COMO Shambhala, Ubud
If relaxation is on the agenda, look no further than COMO Shambhala Estate. Wellness gurus and yoga aficionados worldwide credit their zen like state to some time spent in the sublime surroundings of this retreat. Located in Begawan Village, COMO Shambhala Estate is home to resident experts including a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic doctor and resident dietitian. Their holistic approach offers signature massage therapies, a state-of-the-art gym and outdoor activities such as hiking and climbing. Extend the experience with a stay in one of their residences, suites or villas and fuel your body with nourishing, nutritionally balanced cuisine. This is luxury wellness at its finest.
New York Pilates, Soho
2019 Carrie Bradshaw would 100% practice at this studio which is equal parts sleek as it is committed to the philosophies of Pilates. Pared brick white walls, timber flooring and tons of natural light make this reformer studio a very beautiful one to practice in and we’d be there in a heartbeat. Be prepared for a serious burn though, classes here are called “Burnout”, “Abs Arm, Ass” and “Core Cult” so you could be in for a strong workout at New York Pilates!
Heading to the city of love over the break? Sweat like the Parisians do (with a baguette in hand, obvs) at the stylish 21Blanche. The former private mansion was built in 1901 and features floor to ceiling windows, marble columns and classic French parquetry floors. Visit the first-floor ballroom and adjoining outdoor terrace for a bite to eat in the restaurant which is serving up a menu designed using seasonal, local and ethically sourced ingredients and a selection of juices and protein shakes. 21Blanche offers a huge range of classes from boxing, spin, Pilates and yoga as well as a weights room, massage jet-equipped infinity pool, saunas and steam rooms. So French, so chic!
Shelter, Double Bay, NSW
WA boys Ben Mills and Chris Ntoumenopoulos are the team behind the very beautiful Shelter in Double Bay, Sydney. The minimalist vibe is strong here, with striking concrete flooring, soft touches of timber and hues of peachy pink creating a space that could almost be a spa. Shelter takes visitors on a sensory journey with particular attention paid to texture, sound, light and scents that are expressed throughout the space. At Shelter, ride and box in classes designed to work the body and mind, recover in a sauna or ice bath and restore with a vegan smoothie in the Sydney sunshine. There’s even a Margaret River smoothie for those feeling a little homesick for the west…
Another Space, London
If you’re serious about getting your sweat on and upping your street cred at the same time, head to Another Space. Located in the heart of corporate city London, Another Space sports a monochrome, modern vibe and is touted as London’s best full body workout. That’s a massive claim but we think the fun mix of HIIT, spin, boxing and yoga might have something to do with it. Another Space don’t offer memberships (or charge a joining fee), simply purchase credits for your class and get moving!
And if you’re still missing your Pure Moves fix whilst traveling, you can still sneak in a Pure Moves workout via The PHIT Method online – one of the hottest fitness studios you can take with you (in our opinion…)
